The Heidelberg pH Diagnostic Test

Your stomach acid, measured in real time.

A single capsule. A definitive answer. The Heidelberg pH Capsule measures acid secretion as it happens — no blood draw, no scope, no guesswork.

How it works

Step 01

Swallow

A vitamin-sized capsule.

Step 02

Measure

Real-time pH.

Step 03

Know

Your stomach acid.

Step 04

Act

A plan with your practitioner.

The acid threshold

Function follows pH.

Drag the scale. Each job of stomach acid holds across a range of pH, then falls away as the stomach loses its acidity.

The reflux pathway

Same symptoms. Two very different roads.

Heartburn and reflux can come from too much stomach acid, too little, or something else entirely. Which road your care takes depends on one thing: whether anyone measured your acid before treating it. Compare the two.

How reflux is usually managed. The standard guideline pathway most patients are put on: treat the symptoms with acid suppression first, and investigate only if that fails.

Reflux symptoms

Heartburn, regurgitation, indigestion. You see a doctor.

Straight to acid suppression

Lifestyle advice plus a proton pump inhibitor, the standard acid blocking medication, for eight weeks. The assumption built in: you make too much acid. No one checks whether that is true.

Did it work?

Feels better

Often kept on the medication long term. Yet the American Gastroenterological Association is clear that feeling better does not confirm acid was the cause. The trial is only 41 to 54 percent specific for reflux, a coin toss dressed up as an answer.

No better

A long workup begins: endoscopy, then esophageal acid testing off medication, hunting for functional heartburn or other causes. Often many months later.

The blind spot

Every step assumed too much acid, yet that was never measured. If your acid is actually normal or low, blocking it further is the wrong direction, and the real cause stays hidden while the months pass.

Reflux symptoms

The very same starting point. Heartburn, regurgitation, indigestion.

Measure the acid first

A real time reading of how much acid your stomach actually makes. One simple step, and now you hold a fact instead of a guess.

The reading guides the road

Acid suppression now fits

Your symptoms match the treatment. You and your physician move forward on evidence, not a hunch.

More acid · lower pHLess acid · higher pH

The payoff

You begin with data, not assumption. Fewer wrong turns, far less trial and error, and the right road sooner, chosen together with your physician.

The Heidelberg pH test measures gastric acidity; it does not diagnose gastroesophageal reflux disease and is not a substitute for evaluation and care by your licensed physician.

Why it matters

Every condition above changes the moment you know your acid level.

What changes when you know

A single test can reshape the conversation between you and your practitioner.

Stop guessing

Replace trial-and-error prescribing with a direct measurement of what your stomach is actually doing.

Understand why

If acid is already low, suppressing it further makes things worse. The data shows which direction to go.

Address the root

Bloating, reflux, SIBO, and deficiencies can all trace back to one cause. Knowing your acid status changes everything.

Find confidence

No more wondering whether the medication is right. You and your practitioner decide based on real evidence.

The technology

What your practitioner sees.

As the capsule streams your stomach’s pH, the Acid Tracker platform plots it live — every shift, as it happens. Your practitioner watches the full response unfold in real time, then walks you through exactly what it means for you.
